Very Interesting.... quite large too, and cheaper then the current GW Dragon.... Probably not the best detail, but would make a good Smaug mini...

What do you guys think?

I think he is better looking than the lego smaug i posted some time ago :)

But seriously, he looks quiete good doesn't he ? With a proper paint job, some highlichts/shadowing etc, I think you can make this one magnificent !

But I am not planning any diaroma where he fits in..

My only complaint is the joint segments are highly visible. Sure some gs could hypothetically take care of that but I'd rather be filling small seams. Not those chasms

Is it flexible enough? Could the tail be curved?

It is an Action Figure so I imagine you could pose it, and then greenstuff he gaps to solidify it... voila... a Smaug Miniature :)

Just a shame it's limited to 3000 and only ships in the us.

Thanks, bridge direct!

1.5" figure and accessory... let me guess, Bilbo and the Arkenstone?
Tail is wire core so at least that can be managed. So if they scale it at 22" to a 1.5" Bilbo, at least there is grounds for a model half that size for our .75" Bilbo. Puts a GW one well into "extremely easy to make" category.
I think the limit is a god idea, may of the other LOTR figures were limited or exclusive (like the Balrog Action figure), the more common ones filled store shelves and didn't move well, so I am sure they did homework and know they will just barely sell this many (especially considering it is not a great looking action figure, the LOTR fellbeast is a 30" wingspan).

 Well it is a Smaug Figure... when it is the real thing I will make it clear in the title if I am lucky enough to be the first to post it :)

Can one member of the forum that live in the USA buy it for me and ship it to my home?
I'm in Spain and will pay all the purchase and shipping costs in advance.

If any one can help me pm with the contact.

Rather than start a new thread, I thought I'd post this here:

http://www.andreadepotusa.com/en/1/andr ... rettyPhoto

Andrea Miniatures has released a new 54mm scale dragon, which means it would be quite large with 28mm figures. In its pose, it's around 10 inches tall and 9 across. Physically, it is very similar to Smaug, but it would still require a pretty good bit of conversion work to make it look more like him. Currently it's retailing for around $215, which is substantially more expensive than any of GW/FW's current dragons--but it's also much larger.

Great find, and quite a beast at 1/32 I reckon.

I just realized, this dragon is Vermithrax, from the 1981 Disney movie Dragonslayer. I should have put two and two together earlier, it says it right on the box.

And yes, 1/32 is essentially 54mm, so this would be quite large for 28mm miniatures I think. It's supposedly around 6.5 inches tall.

I really like the Winged War Dragon, Jamros. Most of all it's about 2/3 metal, well worth the $214 price tag and worth more its value than WHF Nagash which is also a nice model by GW.

Id love a pose where he is curled up around a rock and ready to strike or him flying like at the end of DoS
