So I'm trying to decide on a paint scheme for the armored mounted versions of the elven brothers.

Do I go with the traditional golden colored armor or something more along the lines of Elronds color scheme in The Hobbit... Orrrr a silver theme like seen with the knights of Rivendell...

Be interested in hearing peoples thoughts.

They are wonderful miniatures and I hope to do them justice with a nice paint job!

I once painted these exceptional miniatures in the same style as Glorfindel from The Battle for Middle-Earth 2 video game. If you're not familiar with him then Google will be your friend, although other search-engines are available. To differentiate the two, I then painted Elrohir's hair a light brown, almost blonde, but kept Elladan's white like Glorfindel. They look fantastic in this scheme, I even went on to paint up 24 plastic Galadhrim in this style and they looked formidable on the battlefield!

Hope this helps and inspires! I look forward to see the outcome whatever scheme you choose!

Im already half way there with my own, gone with Elrond's colours from Hobbit. They just seemed natural with those.

Must say I have to agree with you. Elronds scheme looks pretty awesome and definitely refreshing from the usual gold colors.

Came across this pic while researching. Again, real nice color scheme!

I went for the 'third age' style silver armour on my twins, but set them apart with lots of browns and leathers, instead of finery and cloth like on the rest of the Elves. These guys spend a lot of time travelling, so I thought some more hardwearing clothhing would make sense.

I quite liked the War of the North videogames versions of them. Their armour in that was the same shape as the typical Rivendell armour, but was made of a boiled leather material that I thought was quite a fitting choice for them.

The silver armor does look pretty sweet I have to admit.

While on the subject of elves I don't suppose anyone has the knowledge on how to get that lovely light green color found on the Galadhrim banner... can't figure it out at all...
