Is a Corsair Bo'sun worth it any more?

I'm trying to decide between a Bo'sun or a Taskmaster in my Corsair contingent.

My question is is the Bo'sun worth it any more? :roll:

He has no might and his special rule only effects Corsairs where as the Taskmaster has might and has a 50/50 chance of keeping it for only another few points (think Iron Gurad)

Well dude to be honest if you want more troops he's a very cheap leader who has a banner......he's def worth his points just use him in an army you want a lot of troops in

I'm using them as part of an angmar black numenorean alliance so the banner effect isn't really an issue

But is take your point I may just use him for more troops in a harad allaince

Yeah I imagine he's not super effective in that army but if you could put him with 12 reavers he's devastating. A banner making each corsair with fight five able to let each corsair roll three dice per turn....epic.

That sounds like a powerful combo.

Guess I'm converting some Reavers and dusting off my Shade this weekend the wife will be delighted :lol:

Banners are always effective and worth the cost. Have a playtest with it and see how it goes. Umbar has a mix of common builds which might be troop heavy (Bosun would be better) or hero heavy (Taskmaster better), so it depends what you are playing.

Another thing, the taskmaster would have to be suitably converted. Yarr!

I did a simple conversion that would give me the best of both worlds and still be in keeping with the look of the Corsair's
