Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhh! The attack on Dol Guldur can only be epic, it would be impossible for it not to be! When Elrond drew his sword I got goosebumps.

Fantastic. The music on full volume was awesome. Like DomyHill the Elrond bit got me too.

Although I am VERY curious, I think it would be cool for this last middle earth movie, to see it unspoiled. I will try.. to not watch this and just watch the film.

I am rediculously excited to see that army of elves, the shot of all those bows being fired was AWESOME!!! Plus it looked like there were a ton of elves with spears and shields and such....exciting is all I can say.....

However I am very interested in the trollapults and if we are going to get a model of them and how that would work....
Also, I wonder what those weird armour less white Orc/half-troll things really are? Like personal guard or beserker/shock troops or what?

Needs more trolls. haven't seen enough of them to know if they're cool.

There seems to be a kind of half-troll character, killed by a cart and first seen with the tank trolls and then in a close up.

I wont (until now.. ) see it, bit it seems the attack on dol guldur goes without an army ?

To be honest it's too early to tell if there's an army with them. It's quite possible that this is simply the highest point/chamber of Dol Guldur and the army is fighting orcs elsewhere. And Jackson did compare the battle (and he's used that word in both interviews and commentaries - the white council vs nazgul/sauron does not constitute a 'battle', imo) to Helms Deep in reverse in an interview a while back.

It'd have to be monumentally dense of Elrond to say "Alright, my heavily armoured elven knights that the first movie made a big show of me having access to - I won't need you guys, I'm just going to cross the misty mountains (swarming with orcs on the warpath), pass through the wilderland (ditto), Mirkwood (ditto, plus spiders) and attack Satan himself in his fortress. I'll be fine on my own, don't wait up." In fact, I'll go so far as to say that if there is no elf army, then it's the most daft and stupid thing these movies have done.

Them Nazgul, though. Them Nazgul. Ima pay for an expensive resin box set of them, no matter the price.

That one orc/troll looks like Gothmog before his crippling. Would make a nice tie in as the guy who takes over after Bolg and Azog are past. Still can't believe this will be the shortest of the films with how much we have seen hints of. And we still get more Smaug before all the battle stuff.

I am trying to keep my head and consider that GW may not make half of what we are seeing at this point. Don't want to get hopeful for anything that may never see the light.

For once i dont mind all the CGI in this one. It's putting real fantastical characters on the screen with those trolls, bats, half trolls(?).
I think the main issue i've had with the Hobbit movies is that they tried much too hard to be like the Lord of the Rings and to constantly reference it over and over again. The athelas scene, the love interest, the elvish horn, the bree scene, etcetera.
Thats why i wish GDT was still director. I love PJ but i think GDT would have given the Hobbit it's own identity.
That being said, I really see the trilogy come into it's own in this film. I have high hopes for it and hope everything is unique in this one. I'm just hoping to see Christopher Lee unleash some magic.

Looks amazing I'm up to about 50 views, the only thing I'm not thrilled about is the scenes depicting Bolg and Legolas fighting. I really hope Legolas does not defeat him and Bolg has his fight from the book.

I didn't mind Legolas taking up the screen time he did in DOS as much as others however I think he should take a back seat in BOTFA and let the big players come into it.

I just went through it on slow mo and it could be a sword still sheathed, I have a feeling Thranduil meets Tauriel early on and just disciplines her for leaving her post.

Later in the trailer you see her getting thrown against a wall by Bolg.
