saw the pics....shame warriors are finecast..
Tauriel kinda look funny
legolas cool another horse version
armoured mirk captain is a gorgeous model
armoured mirkwood elves are weird specially archers and spearmen

look

The bows are more similar to galadhrim bows, thin and elegant as same as spears as you expect on elves, check these on the photobucket and those fiencast ones seems like club like weapons -.-
armour is fine and all but those weapons... why they didnt made em plastic really :/

Thranduil every 1 expected an elk, still hes on a very royal and elegant horse, I like it...

my opinion top models:
armoured mirkwood captain
thranduil foot and mounted
legolas foot and mounted (although his foot pose ressemble thorin´s pose on the rulebook which we saw the newer variation with his with his sword on his hand next to his body pointing up)

Are Tauriel's feet really that big? Wish her pose was more warlike.

I am very tempted to go buy another box of palace guard and swap their heads with some galadhrim ones I have and call it a day. I will probably get some of the clam packs but only because Christmas is coming and I'll have a little but more disposable income and such.

On the whole I'm not sure weather I should jump for joy or cry at this release. On the one hand we got basic troops for Mirkwood! On the other hand, they are all finecast and thus even more stupidly expensive! I think I might just curl up in a ball and ponder life for a while I guess.

The link is no good, the owner of the album made it private so no-one can see the pictures anyway. Just be patient and wait till thursday.

hmm, 3 elves is 20 euro. So how can I explain my wive that I would spend 100 euro or more to get a very small contignent of 15 elves... I guess I can't,

oh boy, one day you could get 24 units for 24 euro (which was not cheap at all), now 24 standard warriors cost 160 euro !!!!
It's a saddening day, especialy becouse the minis look that good, that I would want them :)

Anyone have an idea of when we'll be getting rules for these chaps?
Like when the new rulebook/expansion is going to come out?

I'd guess at rules in the WD or a sourcebook with 2/3 weeks.

Yeah, with some of their Warhammer releases it looks like GW is moving towards including rules in WD and in the boxes for the minis themselves, so maybe the same case with these fellows.

Now that it's had a few hours to sink in I think I'll be getting the captain. Might get some palace guards and concoct a halfway house painting scheme. Thinking the same for dale men/laketown men.
