^It would be strange to release a second Azog in such a short period, but it is possible; they had two Thranduils and two Beorns in the DoS wave. We'll see.

Don't know if they'll continue making new sculpts for the range. The Perry's are gone, don't know the whereabouts of the other Lotr sculptors. There's a little over 2 years left in the license. With the films done, is it reasonable to expect another wave in the summer or following winter? I'm thinking whatever they release now for the next few months is it.

Seems like GW is once again the victim of PJ's last minute change of plans, as that Azog does not have armor OR the swordlike arm-weapons. Bolg looks amazing though.

So far it's the purely digital things that are in short supply with this release.

Can't wait for someone to get their hands on the supplement so we know once and for all what we're getting. I will look for trolls, necromancers and ringwraiths - but I shall not trust to hope, it has forsaken these lands.

Wait, how was that a comment on what I said? :)

Digital things - elk, azogs armour, bolgs armour. All subject to last minute changes/additions/removals. Just made me wonder about the other all digital or mostly digital things in the movie, like the trolls, Nazgul, dain, etc. Will they show up, or will they be cut?

But I see it this way. The hobbit is much more for kids, and started to get published because someone(dont quote me here historians) had a child who brought it to his father who was a publisher no?

The story of how it got published is actually pretty awesome. Tolkien sent the Hobbit to his publisher on the suggestion of some of his friends. His publisher wasn't all that interested in it, so he gave it to his ~10 year old son to read. The little brat said that he didn't like it, but that younger kids would. So it got published. 20 some odd years later, Tolkien sent LotR to the same publisher and it was read and approved by the same kid, now grown up, who said the book was amazing. What I would give to have been the kid who got The Hobbit AND The Lord of the Rings published.

Anyway, new stuff looks good. Holding out on an armored Azog, but might get Bolg.

And even though it's also free, I'm definitely getting that supplement. I have almost all of the rule books. Just need to find a suitably cheap AUJ rulebook and Free Peoples book (even though two of my friends already have that one, so I can do without).

Yeah Id agree with that. My idea was that they release whatever set is coming out with Azog, Bolg, and Bard then wait a few and release armored azog.

Im not saying I believe that will happen. I doubt it in fact.....but if they were......thats like I said....they released the elves first(I think most would agree the least interested release) then the cooler dwarves which are highly priced and often done, then the nicest imo yet, laketown with new units and models. Now we get a new bolg azog and bard with the least negative talk yet.

They seem to be doing as I predicted(may be wrong lol) and releasing in order of what they people will actually buy so they might catch some spending what they wouldnt want by seeing those units first.

If they release an azog, then a preview for new dwarves come out the next wave, some may say screw it and buy the new azog before another is released. But I do doubt it.

Nah it looks like a normal cavalry base.

Between that the defense and the special rule this makes Bolg about 3 times as good as Azog.

Bolg mounted looks to be on a 50mm base, same as Azog mtd

And it looks like Bolg will be first BotFA model(s).

There's just something off about it.

It's probably just an optical illusion, as Grungehog says.

Smaug is €385. A bit less expensive than I thought (€500) but still way to much money for me.

What I like best from the Smaug miniature is Bilbo. It has the same proportions like the LOTR releases. If all Hobbit releases would have been made using the same style I did not quit collecting the miniatures... :(

I think you got the € mixed up with the $

Yeah I've seen a few comparisons. The dwarves look way more realistic compared to Lotr, and Lotr was already realistic compared to Warhammer. But some models, like the hunter orcs, is too vastly different in proportions that I don't like it.
