Hello! I'm going to a tournament in a few weeks, and I'll be taking my Isengard list. Inspired by a list by DrGrant I have added the help from the Witch King as well.

The tournament in 1000 points, and every player has to have 3 full warbands, and no hero over 225 points.

Any tips or suggestions? Should I add a troll?

Thats a pretty big battle haha. I feel like you should have a banner in there somewhere with this many points. Especially because there are so many units on the field the banner becomes more effective.

I PERSONALLY would take a troll but I could see how he would quickly become a pin-cushion.

At 1000pts Isengard I am a little surprised to see no Grima...

Is Grima really essential to a list? I've not been that impressed by him.

If I'm going to add a troll, should I reduce numbers or remove the Witch King?

I've played a number of games with Grima Lurking in my back field and he is VERY annoying! I generally play Gondor so I have a number of Low point characters such as Damrod or Beregod and they can't call any heroics while within 6 Inches and It can hurt. Alternatively I can Charge models into him to hold him up but then Im taking guys away from fighting the Urak-hai and I generally need all the swords I can get!

Hes only 25 points so in my opinion in a 1000 point game to spend 25 on him is a Must! especially when he can really gimp some characters you may see like Boromir of the white tower or Aragorn, and a whole host of others. ( who knows what at 1000!)

also if you maneuver him right I belive he can trap people in.

I would ALWAYS take him! But just my thoughts, Good luck at the tourny!

I agree on taking Grima, as he is very good for his points. I would also remove Sharku and give Saruman a warband to go with him. Rather than a troll I would mount the Witch King on a fell beast. Something like:

Only thing I think I would change is maybe using feral instead of the beserkers. Thats just me though. I like the Feral more.

Cool, thanks for the tips. I've added Grima and updated the list below. Unfortunately I don't have a Fell Beast, so I added a troll instead. Since I need 3 full warbands, is it worth it to decrease the Witch Kings M/W/F to add a Banner?

A banner is always a nice addition to an army. I would swap out one berserker for an uruk-hai w. shield, remove one warg rider w. shield and take away one point of will from the Witch king. This should give you enough points to equip one of your troops with a banner.
