D.C. Hobbit League!

Hello all Hobbit SBG Gamers! The fantastic group known as the Great British Hobbit League, whom have supported our great Hobbit Hobby, have inspired another group to join their cause. We are the D.C. Hobbit League, located in the Washington D.C. Area! We have over 30 members to our group and we continue to grow on a daily basis!

We are devoted to helping the Hobbit SBG grow and as a result, we have a website that connects our community, and we want everyone to now be apart of it. We are posting Youtube videos, a facebook page, hosting tournaments, and providing highly detailed terrain from Wrightwargameterrain.com for all Hobbit players who want to join us.

We play every Friday, Saturday and Sunday without fail at the Springfield Games Workshop, and we are branching out to multiple other stores in the area. Please check out our sites for everything you need for the hobby!

Yayy!! We are finally on the One Ring!

I cant wait for players all over the East Coast to join us in keeping this Hobbit Hobby going!

Too bad y'all aren't closer to NC. I know a few guys who play in my area, but DC is pretty far away for me.

I'm in a similar situation to Draugluin. I don't know where he is located, but I live in NC, and my area is about 4 hours away from the games workshop you mentioned. I also know some people who play SBG from time to time. Those 4 hours is just far enough for me to say I can't just make a casual trip up for a weekend. Granted, it's still close enough for me to be able to make an effort to go there sometime and support the hobbit hobby. If only you guys were the NCHL lol then that would be perfect (I can dream). Either way, it's really cool to have this hobbit league so close and on the East Coast. You definitely have another supporter here.

We do have a member of the DCHL in Ft. Bragg North Carolina! He travels up here now and again, but we consider him a member due to his dedication to our group and since he is the brother of the Head of the DCHL. If either of you consider yourself close enough to that army base, then I would love to introduce you to him.

I live in Raleigh, about a half hour from the GW store at Pinecrest Pointe. If we can get enough people, I have no doubt we could get a league of our own started.

The guy who runs that store says that he sells a lot of Hobbit/LotR stuff, but he nevers has any games going.

I travel down to Raleigh relatively frequently, and have my base not far from GW Pinecrest Point. Happy to start bringing my army and get in a game of Hobbit whenever I'm in town

Cool! Springfield is my regular store. I might just have to stop by some time once I finish painting my armies. Glad to hear there is a league in my area!!

Glad to find more Hobbit players in the area! You can find more information about upcoming events on the website. Currently we are doing an Escalation League on Saturday at 11am. That would be the best time to meet many of the players. Otherwise, you are guaranteed to find Hobbit players on Friday nights and all weekend long. Matches on weekdays can be arranged by PMing me. I will then reach out to you.

When you arrive, ask the store manager for the head of the DCHL. He is very familiar and supportive of our league.

And here is a shout out from those of us in richmond, va who still play every other week. We have a diverse group and play a lot of different games but we all have LOTR in common. I will make an effort to travel up to DC for a hobbit holiday one night.

There's plenty of us here at the Springfield shop on Fridays and Saturdays that you'll likely find a game. (Getting a table might be a problem, but an easily remedied one.) And it would be nice to see another face (and more troops for my trolls to throw around. :twisted:

only 403 miles from me. And 8 hour drive with 50 mph average (which I would hope is on a slow day). So though I could not make every event, a special trip could possibly be arranged if planned well in advance.
