Balrog -worth his points?

Hi,

Do you think that the Balrog is still not worth his points? He can do brutal power attacks and doesn't need to do heroic strikes.

Not even remotely worth his points. With 0 might and 0 will he's pretty sorry. True BPA's make him a tiny bit better, but not much. He should be 100-150 points cheaper than he currently is IMO

We play thathe is 50 points less and has a 12" Stand Fast! with a dragging effect to his lash (Watcher in the Water style!). He's probably still to much at that but it makes him a bit better and a bit less ignorable.

Aye, better than before (obviously), but not good. I like Jacob's suggestions, not just for added power, but also a bit more interesting - especially the lash. Would love to see the profile redone with some extra fun rules, like Smaug.

Even with power attacks he's a lot more than he ever should be. I would never field him even more in a fun game.

He needs minimum 3 abilities like small orbbeorn have and 3 rules unique to him to be worth his points.

I also think that he is not worth his points but I don't think that the Balrog is that bad. Because, what do you want to do against him (in a big points battle)?

Wizards Ringwraiths Trolls with might Treebeard Bolg Azog plenty of furied units with a hero heroic striking half trolls and many more.

For his points I believe you can get a named wraith on fell beast a troll and and like 130 more points.

That's very easy, surround him with troops and you'll kill him with less than half his points of opposition, he's literally never worth it. Last game that I fought one I killed him with Drar and 6 Dwarves (2 Khazad Guard, and 4 Dwarf Warriors), all of them used piercing strike every turn and killed him very, very quickly and I only lost 2 Dwarf warriors. That's roughly 125 points of models killing a 400 point model with only losing 16 points themselves

Really? You wouldn't cast magic with a wizard that gets 1 free will every turn? Or a necromancer who has 25? Sauron? Witch King?

One or two turns on a trapped Balrog who's halved his fights and attacks by the right units and he can die.

Imagine you trap him with a hero a troll and a bunch of black guard? Win a fight and inflicting wounds is not all that far fetched.
