Hello, I've always struggled to paint red for some reason and would like some help.

If anyone know of any good step by step videos or picture tutorials please give me a link. Red cloth or capes preferably, but anything goes.

What are good options for washes when you paint red? In the past I've tried a black wash, but looks pretty bad.

Thanks.

Use browns to shade your reds. Red is in the Brown spectrum so they pair well

There are a few red swatches in the new How to Paint Citadel Miniatures. Also, White Dwarf has been all about the red with the army of Khorne lately.

For my red, I shade it with a dark blue. Was recommended by a pro painter and ever since I followed this advice, they have been going nicely together.

I then add a lighter shade of red to the base red and slowly build up to that.

If you want me to elaborate more, just ask, feeling lazy at the moment. lol

@Feanorthenoldor do you have any pictures to show what it looks like?

I'll try to shade with brown and blue, even if the blue option sounds a bit odd but surely worth a shot!
I will also check out How to Paint Citadel Miniatures.

Thanks for the help everyone!
