we see them only for few second , but in the battle disappear magically !! :roll:

Love the Gundabads, they look great.

How did you do the gold on the Easterlings?

I totally forgot that Morannon Orc models have lots of nice options for Gundabads as well! I will need to try that out later on too!

Do you know if its technically legal to give them banners and shields for spearmen? I dont recall the rules in the book saying you can give them banner, but if it was somewhere, i would definitely do that conversion as well! And as for the uruk conversions - nice touch with those halberds! It's a nice conversion from warhames factory orcs, and they have a decent enough scale for this system to work.

completed for march challange ! i post them here for you !
simple idea : easterling archer on horse , why gw didn't create them? there are archer on foot why not on horse?
i add arrow and bow string . the best is the armour for the "rohan" horses,created with green stuff !
i hope you will appreciate !

i have used bronze , then brass, and then some gold with silver !

-for the question about the banner and shield. i don't know and i don't care , it would be absurd if it will not possible to add a banner to gundabad orcs ! all armies have banner , drummers etc...

Nice work but one point and a little tip to pull colours together
The shading on the horse look a bit dark. Get you base colour and thin it a lot. Now apply this over the whole area, you will find it will start to bring the shadow and highlight together.
It may take a few coats but it's worth it.

hi ! i'm back after a month ,i have worked to another ideas/projects :
Iron hill dwarfs , gw doesn't create them , so i create for myself !

i take the old warrior, add chainmail ,shield ,and recreate the helm , the armour is almost the same of the original miniature . they aren't perfect , in particular the first because i create in an hour more o less...
i have also painted and i'll post later , for now see these !

i sculpt also a dale warrior from rohan soldier : im uncertain if add a shield or a banner ?!

i have also converted some golblin with different clothes ,weapons and scheme color .photo very soon !

I like the sculpts! Great detail on the Dale guy. I think you need to work on the chainmail technique a little. There were sculpting guides on the internet on how to make it look more three-dimensional rather than being a punctured surface. It will be slow and fiddly to do but the end result is worth it. hi all !
here some updates of some projects that i'm working during these period .
zulu = mahud warrior with some green stuff .

another work ; mirkwood spider , i added the head with eyes and totally improvvisate the scheme colour ! i used a simple halloween's spider .

the base will be in autumn color like mirkwood elfs.

and finally a work of very very long term but almost finished

: mirkwood elfs.
i try to recreate their armour , added more long hair , add the belt, and the tunic above the chainmail . for the shields i use the mold technique , not perfect but accettable.

AAAAAAAAAGGGHHHHH That Spiders is truly awful!!! Good job!

The mirkwood elves look pretty good too, I'd be tempted to put one final edge highlight of runefang steel on the most prominent areas to signify where the metal catches the light most.

another little update !
i try to convert the old lorien elfs in mirkwood elfs ; with some green stuff work they are now very similar ! i don't know if painting them with a different scheme colour , perhaps winter... :wink:

now dwarfs

: i paint them but they are not finished .

a little detail on the shield ; a boar , i see these on bofta art book and i think it is present also in the film , even if we can't see it...

soon i hope to post the elf painted and now i'm working on another spider with different colour . the rohan/dale warrior is almost finished ,they are very nice !

Like the hoods, makes them look like elf rangers! If we ever get those elves we'll certainly put hoods on them, they look much better. The Boar shield is a nice charcterful touch too.

hi all ! i'm back after a month !

i had so little time in this period but i had many ideas for summer holiday !
my project is to create three different troops for the old kingdoms of arthedain,cardolan and rhudaur ! :wink:

here there are previews of cardolan and rhudaur ; for arthedain i have already in mind the model .
(All models aren't finished to paint :oops:

)

for cardolan i used minas tirith soldier and i take inspiration by arnor miniature but with some add.

historic norman with gondorian head .

others projects in progress :
previous mirkwood elf and beorn .

alternative numenor pose for warrior , with legs of gondorian (more static) .

nazgul spectre , simple but very effective !

some progress with dale warrior and armoured rohan soldier .

an other project for summer : armoured goblin like battle of five armies and probably troll with catapult !!
on august i'll post some update !

hi all !i'm back after many months , i have a lot to do with university and in two weeks i'll finally have a degree !!
i have many conversion and project in my mind and now i have more free time i'll try to start them

the project are: conversion of grimhammers in iron hills troopers, with pike and axe.
convert elf palace guard in mirkwoord soldiers, try to create some black numenorean with medieval miniature, create alternative orc with mantic miniature, convert and improve gundabad wargs!

i'm back after a long pause!
i'll show you some updates of the many project started time ago.
iron hill pikemen

update of dwarfs conversion, not finished to paint yet...

gundabad orcs: mantic body, wargames head, for the pike i used the original axe and then add wood stick.

men of carn dum!! the main colour are: dark purple, dark red, and grey/sky blue for the cloaks. for the shield i have inveted a new emblem: a snowy mountain.

i'm working on mirkwood elf: they are painted but lack some details; a giant hill troll not from lotr but very nice, a mirkwood captain/ thranduil, a black numenorean. yesterday i take some old lorien elfs (armoured) and try to repaint all.
