I'd like to officially join this challenge!

These will be the participants in my diorama:

For Mordor: 40 orcs and two trolls

Image

This will be the start of a conversion into a fighting stance for Gandalf the White.

Image

And for Minas Tirith: 36 Warriors of Minas Tirith.

Image

I won't say where I'll be placing them quite yet, that is, where they'll be fighting. I still need to draw it all out. I probably won't use all of these models, though.

I was wondering how anyone was doing with the challenge ?
For myself I have made some great leaps and will definately finish what has been my most prolific period of painting.

Hey Mally
My terrain is nearly done. I just have to add water effects to the river and make a few reed beds. I am painting some extra figures which will hopefully be done by July. I had a kerfuffle with the orc driving the great beast - I lost his arm and lance (likely sucked up in the vacuum cleaner!) so I have to do a conversion and some sculpting. I will have something finished on time - just don't know what it will be yet!

Good to see your still in the hunt. I think a few have fell by the wayside, but I am hoping for more than two of us.
Damned vacuums, all the more reason for not using them.

I've made very small progress on my project, so far. But I'm hoping to finish with something!

Well I've had a rush of blood and can say that mine is finished a month early. I have to admit that I've got through a hell of a lot of work quickly. I will look to getting some photos up tomorrow when the light will be better.

Here is the stone tower. what hasn't really shown up is the water I have added that is coming out of the hole in the top centre, just a dribble though, not a torrent.ImageImageImage

Mally - that is just brilliant! You have captured the chaos of Goblin Town perfectly and given the diorama a real sense of action. I love the goblins falling off the walkway, the casualties, the lost limbs, the blood and gore! That is what a diorama should look like! :yay: :yay: :yay:

I am still plugging away at mine. It will be touch and go if I make the deadline. Trying to think of ways to also add some action.

Thanks fellas.
I hope you finish it time Edge, I was lucky and got some time in plus I condensed things to finish and can't believe I'm a month early !
This means I can move onto other things.

Quality Mally, pure quality. the scene is amazing and works really well. The time you must have out into this must be massive, paid results though.

Just amazing work there Gandlaf - you should be very proud of that entire diorama. Well thought out, well executed, and as usual, it's painted to a very high standard.

Congrats on completing a really great piece !

By hook or by crook I will finish on time. Here is another proof pic - adding Faramir and some casualties to the diorama.

You can do it edge! I believe in you! :D

I have to finish finals this week and due to school haven't been able to do really anything with my diorama. I plan on doing something though. I hope that I can start and finish something by the end of the month! It'll still use the models that I took proof pics of though.
