I had hoped they would imply that new books would be coming soon, but this is definitely the next best thing.

That's an interesting tidbit. I assumed that they'd want to rewrite the sourcebooks to incorporate the most recent FAQ's, and start releasing new units. If they're re-releasing the old stuff though, that would appear to suggest that any new units will be released as part of separate new books (a bit like the original Shadow and Flame, Shadow in the East, etc expansions).

I've been feeling that in my bones for almost 2 years. Might be a calcium deficiency.

It’s a fine balance between making the books available again and updating them.

Making the books available again quickly is really important. Making changes to them would probably be a long process as it would involve having to get any changes approved by the license holders.

I hope we’ll see them replaced at some point but probably not for a while yet.

I’d like to see smaller digital books released (e.g. Rohan or Isengard) and then released as printed compilations later.

Good to hear that the sourcebooks are being reprinted.

Looking forward to see what the future brings.

Hi, this is from a facebook post from the Warhammer World page on 10 Mar.

"I am pleased to announce some great evening entertainment at Throne of Skulls on 2nd - 3rd April.
That's right, folks, expect some boisterous mirth in the evening! . First up, Adam Troke, the Middle-earth manager at Games Workshop has agreed to do a presentation on the Saturday night, all about the future of the Strategy Battle Game and Middle-earth in general. I'm a little stoked about this and can't wait to hear what he has to say!"

Would be great to get some info from this event or video of the presentation itself :)

Is there a way to reach the "Middle Earth" department yet? I wanted to ask some questions.

"They are currently in the process of getting the five Source Books ready for re-print. These will be available in the coming months" is the best part of that email!

Lol, so much for that privacy notice in the email :-D

Well I guess we'll find out this weekend whether our hobby will unite, or will it fall, to the utter ruin of all.

It would have been easier to censor the email if you had just cropped it lol. Would have been much easier than using MS Paint.

This weekend is Hobbit Throne of Skulls at Warhammer World, where there will be a seminar from the manager of the new Middle-earth team on what the plans for the future are.

I now remember hearing about that before, and my mind has been blown again! :D

Maybe I'm just being paranoid but does anyone else get the feeling that GW is just trying to execute a takeover of the emerging international tournament scene and leagues before they can become, more or less, independent?
