This is a scratchbuilt scenery piece that I will be using in Middle Earth.
I'm thinking of adding a small river or stream below the rock face, on a separate base. I have a similar piece to this that I did awhile back, so I can put one piece on each side and have the river in the center. Lots of possibilities here.

It looks really amazing, I love it! Definitely interested in what you used to make it all!

Might be nice to see it next to a river piece, yeah.

Yes, those are pine barks chips that I used for the rock face.

excellent work...any chance you could take a couple more pics with a few models placed about for scale ? Curious to see how it would look...

Lovely. Really impressive ground work. Would love some tips on how to get that kind of effect myself!

The base is MDF board sanded and sealed on both sides to prevent warpage.

Sorry, but I gave this piece to a good friend in the UK. I no longer have it.
I'll be making more of these and I'll use figures next time.

A very natural looking piece of scenery - it has all sorts of little features that add depth and visual interest. You could just imagine the dwarves or hobbits slipping along at the base of the rocks, evading orc hunters.
