What do you think of this as a 1000 point force?

Saruman the White on Horse

Grima

The Shadow Lord on horse
Morgul Knight with War Horn

The Undying on horse

The Knight of Umbar on horse

Dragon with Fly and Tough Hide

I considered Sauron but his movement speed is too low. It will be hard to play as positioning will be key, but the idea would be to cast then run and so on. The war horn is for dragon to help keep him on the battlefield.

The dragon can do some damage, but the rest is too weak on their own. They are easy targets to kill. I would drop one (preferably saruman) and give each Nazgul a fellbeast. That will give you some extra much needed killing power :-).

I see you like Unorthodox armies.

Is this one being used an in actual event? I could help.

I'd suggest at 1000 points, something this style but different:

Undying and Knight of Umbar on fell beasts
Dragon with upgrades

Then go from there. What exactly id your goal? I can help from there.

Well I have lots of 'normal' armies, but sometimes it is fun to play something a little different, and occasionally you can come across something that really works.

Yes the aim would be to make this a tournament team. I would not go to expect to win with a team like this and would do it for fun, but I want a chance of wining games. You don't normally get 1000 points so I thought that would be a good chance to stack it with heroes and I liked the idea of sniping from a distance with the undying and saruman, although as you pointed out, even with the shadow lord they could get picked off.

Yes fellbeasts would would make a big difference to killing power but buying and converting them is a big challenge, so maybe something to consider in the future so I doubt I could add these to this team for now.

What in your opinion is the best nazgul to mount on fellbeast? KoU and Khamul?
Also are any of the fellbeast upgrades worth it?

Ah I see yeah buying fell beasts suck.

You don't need to convert just make them look different so your opponent knows.

As for best? That's an opinion answer. I like the Witch King or undying but that's only because of the wraiths not the combo with the fell beasts.

At serious tournaments you'll see too many knight of Umbars and Khamul. I don't like them though. Cheesy.

As for the upgrade it's not that useful. You already can rend most heroes at 3+ to wound.

Well if that is the case, then I have an old ringwraith on fellbeast and an old witchking on fellbeast that I can use. I like the undying but for me putting him on fellbeast isnt as good as some of the others and the witchking can be quite expensive. I might just try them all out.

Good point on rend.

No I have been away and haven't had a chance to paint my dragon yet (one of the incentives for doing the list).

I never said full magic, it just based on magic but the dragon adds some killing power. Also I do not think wyrmtongue is worth it, especially when fly and tough hide are way better.
