I was wondering if anyone has some words of advice for building an Easterling army, since I don't know if going full Easterling/full Khandish or a combination is wise.

(I've got ~30 Easterling Warriors, 1 War Priest (ft), Khamul the Easterling (ft, mt), Khandish King (ft, chariot), Khandish Chieftain (ft) and 9 Khandish Warriors)

When looking at the armybook I find that the Khandish are pretty squishy while the "Easterlings" have great armour and pike support. Even when comparing archers the Easterlings lack one Fight while the Khandish lack one Defense, but the Easterlings are 1 point cheaper when only armed with a bow.

I like the thematic side of the Khand and how they look, but just thinking about armylists: Are they any good when the Easterlings are also there to chose from?

And what about heroes?
- Khandish King looks like a good hero when you have lots of Khandish warriors nearby.
- War Priest - Fury, pretty good I suppose.
- Amdûr, same like the Khandish King but instead very effective for Easterlings.
- Khamul, probably pretty strong.

So if I look at this list it looks like it's sort of 2 lists to chose from instead of one combined. Too many good heroes profit from having the same kind of units nearby, so combining Easterlings and Khand doesn't look like a smart move...

Any experienced people here with thoughts on this?

Easterling war priest's fury affects all models in the eastern kingdoms, including mounts, think about that for a second

Ohhhhh!!!

So getting that on a horse with some cavalry around him could be very strong! Then you potentially don't need the armoured Kataphracts but can go more offensive with the Khandish cavalry/chariots...

Or am I going too far off now? ;)

Cavalry and chariots are great! Amdur is a solid choice as well (hard to beat that F6 and he counts as a banner).
Here is a lengthy discussion on the topic

Chariots generally aren't worth taking, the bigger base means you are less likely to be able to charge in all of them in one go. The kings are good on a chariot, but I would leave his warrior friends behind (unless you want to be fluffy).

Khamul on a Fellbeast is a good leader. Very killy, can regen his will to stay alive.
