On a side note, I'd like to say I'm a bit tired of opening this thread to essays on price complaints again and again instead of opinions on the models themselves or even ideas for proxies. Can that go elsewhere?

:-D found the person who can afford forgeworld prices. Doubt your opinion will keep when the hobby collapse in on itself becusse the majority of its players can't afford much if anything.

Since I kept the faith through our last "death of the hobby", I reckon I'll do just fine. As I'm surrounded at home by people who either enjoy the models or look for alternatives (full proxy Rohan army since he couldn't afford metals), I suppose we'll keep going through the next impending "hobby collapse." Luckily, you're somewhere else.

PS, here's the forum guidelines so you can start posting productively. Check out #6.

#6 is absolutely absurd. Freedom is speech is very important and, however much people dislike it, have a right to complain. Complaining is just as valuable and needed as praise, of which, Games Workshop get a lot of on here.

The rules are the rules and are not open to negotiation. Its fine to say that you feel the prices are high but what we don't want to end up with is pages and pages of discussions as to why you think the prices are too much etc etc.

I'm introducing a new rule. For goodness sake stop with the excessive quoting.

Here we go, the stupid "freedom of speech means I can bash GW on this here website" argument. Freedom of speech boils down to the government can't restrict your speech. In case you didn't know, this website is not the government.

Exactly Draugluin. This website is above the Government. we answer to the dark lord himself and to him only. What he says goes.

I am the Dark Lord's Boss. I would rather hear more about the quality of sculpts and the playability of minis than an seemingly endless debate on pricing. I am inclined to agree that over time Middle-earth has become almost a niche market, relying upon spending power and/or dedication (some might unkindly suggest obsession but we'll park that to one side) to attain sales. I was always in favour of plastics for troops and many of the monsters/artillery/cavalry and then metals or whatever for characters; that prospect appears to be gone, if not forever then for a considerable time.
I would safely guess that I have revelled in Tolkien's world for many Ages longer than most of you; there is always the prospect of something new coming along eventually. If you disagree with prices, just say something like 'This is beyond my means.' I have to admit that with all the other obligations on my budget, I have to forego purchasing anything new. Another factor is that I simply have nowhere to store any more minis.
I'll shut up now and go back to making Sauron and Morgoth wash the crockery. :)

EXCESSIVE QUOTE EDITED
I know what you are saying but typically people that say "Don't complain about the prices" are usually the ones that can afford the minis for their current prices. I've had several friends refuse to enter the hobby because of the prices, even if they could afford it. And GW/FW rub it in our faces when they offer the Iron hills chariot at the bargain price of one for 100 pounds or three chariots for 300 pounds! Why? They must think we are stupid.

Summary: GW makes awesome miniatures with deterrent prices and we have little influence to that unfortunately.
Now that this is settled: Is there some news on the next release(s)? The estimated date for example? Andreas, what do your viking eyes see?

The Troll Brute and a new Gwahir were both available at Warhammer Fest, so they should be released soon.

What appeared to be finished versions of Iron Hills crossbows and Bard's Children were on display too so they will be next I expect.

I dunno about the crossbowmen. So far, not a fan. I'm waiting for the painted versions. I'm ready for my close-up, Mr. Deville!

Apparently you don't have the issue of where to store more minis. Unfortunately, I do. Actually, I have plenty of space, but storing them in a neat, orderly, organized way is another matter.

It isn't new, but it sounds like some of the community procured the Bard's children models.

Small pre-release of those indeed. Other than that, there was new information, for which I refer you to the Norwegians of STF: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7NoAojOoo_c

Indeed a very reasonable price :D .

I wonder why they didn't release the Percy and Hilda Bianca this month  .

They were all shown at Warhammer Fest but if I remember correctly the children were finished at that stage but Percy and Hilda were still a Work In Progress version.
