Hello all,

I want to create a Uruk-Hai captain with a two-handed sword. My plan is to use the Lurtz body as a base and incorporate pieces of a berserker including the helmeted head and arms. What do you all think about this idea? I have never attempted a conversion of this size, but I am very excited about the project. The models will arrive sometime next week, and I will update you all as I make progress.

Sounds interesting! In the new Battle Companies book gallery of Isengard there is a conversion similar to what you are planning. It is a Uruk-hai warrior with a Berserker two handed sword. Will be interested in seeing how you do it!

Hello All,

I have made some progress on my conversion. I started by removing the head, arms, quiver, and bow from the currently available Lurtz model. Next, I added the head and one arm of a berserker as well as the arm off of a scout. This is what it currently looks like:

What do you think? Please remember this is my first significant conversion.

Also, as a bonus, I was able to put Lurtz's shield on a scout.

I like it! I wonder if there is anything extra you could do to the head to mark it out as a captain? A spike on top or something, perhaps?

Thanks! I agree that it could use something to make it a little more unique. Unfortunately, I don't think a spike would quite fit the aesthetic of my Uruk-hai force. I'm thinking maybe shoulder pauldrons. I will probably paint it as is and see what I think at that point.

The conversion looks very good! And making use of the resulting spare parts is always good as well. I look forward to seeing the captain painted :)

Hello all,

I've been very busy with school, but I finally got my captain done. Also, I've used the body of the original berserker as the base for a custom feral Uruk.

Nice conversion! Be aware of the conversion trap though, once you start converting models it is hard to stop.
