So i decided to get back into the hobby again after like 6-7 years last year and ive decided it could be fun to make a wip mostly for myself to feel like im getting somewhere (i have far to much to paint to ever get done). So this is gonna be what ive managed to paint the last year (that i feel happy enough with to not repaint).

Image

So first up is me "battle company" of dwarfs from ered luin. Since they are from ered luin i went with a blue theme (blue mountains) I almost only use dark colours so they are pretty dark.

Image

Im planning on expanding my isengard army but i wasnt really happy with the uruk hai and wormtounge i painted... but i havent got round to re painting them.

This is all the rohan i have painted. Hama was one of the last things i painted before i quit lotr back when i used to paint. I migth repaint him im not sure. Im also not really satesfied with how eowyns base turned out.

Image

Im currently painting like 20 elves but im not satesfied with them yet so... this is it. Haldir was one of my favorites when i was younger so he is a little special.

Ive spent a lot of time trying to get the colors of the first alliance elves rigth but im not sure im happy yet it need some more green.

Image

Im not sure im completely done with thranduil moste since my bases are horrible.

This is how far ive come with my gondorian army. i think they turned out okay. Im currently working on the mirkwood rangers and tauriel but ive been doing that for a year so i probably wont be done anytime soon with them.

Fantastic stuff! The dwarfs fit well with the aesthetic of the later hobbit films despite being the original models

Like what you are doing on the bases and you do faces quite well.

Best version of those dwarves I recall ever seeing. Nice dark aesthetic, like the movies. Other stuff is quite nice too for the same reasons.

It is nice to see your models well painted, it intrigues you to play. With bad painted models, it makes you lose your "appetite" to play.

Those dwarves are awesome. I've been debating starting a force of them and this might have convinced me!
