Thanks for the kind words everyone, I'm really glad you like it.
I finally got some time and motivation to get out of my recent "painting slump". With all those new minis coming up, it's about time to get back on track, lol. I started working on a Morannon Orc today, and if it turns out the way I want it to, it might make a decent new article.
Thanks again, folks

A fantastic article by a fantastic painter, the results simply speak for themselves. Always a pleasure to view Keysers work !!!

The 'Step-by-Step' photography shows our members exactly what a 'painting guide' on the One Ring should look like !

Stunning work Keyser !

A really great article there, Keyser.

Great to hear that you're starting to paint again. You have been missed! :)

I have this article on my computer - for when I paint Uruks - and because it's just so darn good to look at.

Very good article, it is great when other painters take the time to share there tips with us. I have some Uruks lying around and this is the way I shall go about them.

Beaten Copper doesn't seem to be sold any more in England. Should I use Brazen Brass or Dwarf Bronze?

Sorry to point out to you, but you've murdered the English language...

:-X

I think the part where he said 'This is how I...' was the give-away that it was a personal choice...

Two fair points, gaarew. I'm with you, there.

These models are well painted. As with all figures, personal choice of colour schemes is what can make this an interesting and varied hobby. There's never only one way to do something.

My first Uruks were similar to this and I spent an age painting each and every strap with bestial brown and snakebite leather. Then I painted my next lot really quickly with next to no detailing and, bizarrely, they looked better to my eye.

I'm part way through painting another load of the nasty brutes - using similar armour colours to this. They look great so far.

You can paint an Uruk any number of ways and he will still look great!

I liked this article a lot. :yay:

2 of the best things I have heard today. 8)

People paint things in different ways. There is no right or wrong way. People have their own preferences and some like to make their army that tiny bit different to everyone elses by making these simple changes.

You cannot lecture an entire model just because the strap colour isn't quite to your taste. In fairness, what difference does it make anyway!?
