It is nice to see more progress on your Moria forces. I like the blueish tones you chose for the troll. Its something different but still looks really nice and is in line with the Cave Troll in the movies.

I somehow missed your posts last time, Slinky! Amon Hen is shaping up really nicely. It is somewhat complicated to build compared to some LOTR terrain so full credit to you for taking it on. The Balrog looks very fierce as well. He is going to look awesome in the Moria scenarios (assuming you're planning on playing them)! :-D

The rohan houses are looking good, are you liking the kits?

I'll be curious to see how these look once you've had a chance to paint them up. They look like really nice sculpts!

Sorry, been away from the forum, but I am back painting again now!

The Rohan house kits are nice, but a bit time-consuming to build owing to their high level of modularity. Aiming to get them painted some time soon, they look like a bit of drybrushing should get a good result quickly!

I am painting some Uruk Hai scouts at the moment, they are all done except varnish/basing, I just need the weather to warm up a bit more! :)

Great to see you back slinky! I'll be looking forward to the Rohan houses and I think these Uruk Hai will go well with them. From what I can see, it looks like they're a sharp looking squad. You might try shining just a bit more light on them to help us see the details better. Darker colored miniatures are always harder to photograph it seems like but I am looking forward to seeing them all based and varnished!

Is that battering ram homemade? Or just different front?

Thanks!

The battering ram, I think, is just missing the lumps on the front and back - It was an eBay purchase ages ago, and I didn't realise it was supposed to have them until I saw the recent picture for the upcoming made-to-order :)

These are some fierce looking Uruk Hai! You did an excellent job painting them. I especially like Lurtz and the freehand on his forehead

Very kind, thanks 8)

I have made progress on Amon Hen:

I wasn't quite happy with the top, so I have left that off for now to add some more plasticard details.

Nice use of bases to make the columns, something for me to keep in mind.

Regarding your battering ram, if you want, two options, you could use a pencil point or if you have any fell orgs you could use an extra head to add to the front.

I like how you painted those, elves, Slinky! The colors are different than what GW uses in a good way and I think they fit elves and where elves live really well if you know what I mean. Amon Hen is looking great too! That is a piece of terrain I hope to get to making one of these days as seeing others make it is always really inspirational. Keep the updates coming, my friend! :yay:

Thanks, Kuribo! The colours I picked are based on the LOTR Journey Book painting guides, they do look nice and natural, like they would stand some chance of hiding in a woodland :)

Amon Hen is finally completed. The top was a bit plain, so I added some extra plasticard around the edge (which worked well) and some "flagstones" on the top, which are a bit crap-looking, but never mind :)
