These are great pictures! :-D It is hard for me to say why but I find the bead spiders more unsettling than the real thing. Even Frodo and Sam would shudder at the approach of one of those things!

They're right, there is something just a tad creepy about those...

Really well done, though. I have a bead loom and used to make bracelets and such before I started painting minis.

Epic thread! Well worth Therme I just took to go through all of it. Particularly brilliant building work and miniatures conversions. Seems we both came up with some similar ideas but you came up with them before me! Plenty of other inspiration to take from works of yours I never previously considered. Thank you for sharing your experience and vision!

Thanks! Grumpy Gnome, glad you have found some inspiration in my thread. That is what I like about the One Ring, finding inspiration from others, whether it is in painting, conversions or terrain ideas, there is always something that inspires. There always seems to be constructive help vs criticism.

I find that the Lord of the Rings (and especially the One Ring) community is a friendlier community than most.

Just when I think I'm done with Mordor orcs, an Ebay purchase comes in the mail....

Finished Gothmog and my spearmen so of course had to do this.

Any good side would quake at seeing so many orcs facing off against them! These are great actions shots which you seem to excel at, Mapper :yay: You did a great job painting all of these up as well. I would imagine it was quite a time commitment to do so.

I like to do small projects to sit on my bookshelf, this one has been sitting on the back of my painting table too long, finished yesterday.

Nice little diorama. That Eowyn pose suits it perfectly.

I love your Orc rabble photos also- looks epic!

Thanks everyone, I'm kinda happy myself how it came out. It started with the Eowyn pose, I never liked how she held the sword so I swapped it with the mounted figure spear. Looking at the pose with the spear it seemed like she was being contemplative about the battle the next day so I started to think how I wanted it. Thought about a tent for awhile but decided to go with the tree instead. Had to reposition the legs on the horse and take off it's armor off its head. The base is a piece of driftwood I had picked up, again thought about mounting it on a piece of mdf and make it higher so it looked like she was overlooking from a cliff but went for the simple approach and left it be. Sat on my painting desk for awhile as I played around with how I wanted it to all come together plus the challenge of painting Eowyn.

I see things when I take pictures vs when I paint them, when back and redid Eowyn's cheeks. Not as dark now, picture has been changed.

Fantastic work, Mapper! Very evocative as others have said. It looks like Eowyn is on an adventure or will be on one very soon. How did you do the foliage on the tree? It is really sharp and realistic looking!

Very lovely! I particularly like the conversion and the bushes. What is the base made of? It looks like bark, and anyway the natural shape looks great as well!

Thanks everyone! The tree and bushes are from Michael's, a craft store here in the US.

That is some impressive hobby work, Mapper! I like the different colored shields and your basing scheme as well. Its really neat to see how much you're able to get done lately. The quarantine seems like it is leading you to be fairly productive as of late.
