Cool topic!

I'd say 'When Life Gives You Lemons You Paint That [word deleted] Gold' by Atmosphere, 'Blue Valentine' by Tom Waits, 'F#A# infinity' by Godspeed You! Black Emperor and 'Blue Train' by John Coltrane are some of my favorites!

I think these four work really well as complete albums:

Vital - Anberlin. The band really, really stepped up their game with this album. The follow-up, Devotion, is basically Vital-Plus, but I had grown very fond of the way the songs on Vital were organized and flowed together.

Twilight Theater - Poets of the Fall. Fittingly, an intellectually poetic collection.

A Thousand Suns - Linkin Park. LP got a lot of flack for this one. I didn't really care for them before this album though. The entire album is one long, interconnected collage.

Symphony of Science Collector's Edition - melodysheep. Really catchy tunes that provide a basic science education; autotuned scientists set to music. Very odd concept that actually works.

I like a few other complete albums as well, but for the most part, I'm more of a pick-and-choose kind of guy. I think a lot of albums only have a few good songs on them.

No particular albums but my favourite artists are: Avenged Sevenfold, Three Days Grace, Two Steps from Hell, The Script, First Aid Kit, The Faye and some others.

Hmmm, don't think my tastes will resonate with many...

Amon Amarth: Twilight of the Thunder God. By far their best album, but I love all of them.
Amon Amarth: Versus the World. Second best but has so many good songs on it.
Forefather: Steadfast. We don't get much good English folk metal, this bucks the trend.
Linkin Park: Minutes to Midnight and Hybrid Theory. Both of these are amazing, I much prefer it to their older stuff.
Morrissey: Greatest Hits. Can't really pick a favourite, he's an absolute legend.
Ex Deo: Caligula. My new favourite band, shame they're disbanded but well worth a listen.
Falkenbach: Asa. If anyone actually knows who this guy is, it's liek being in paradise just listening.

I challenge anyone to have heard of all of those bands. :P

:D

I have. In fact, your list isn't as obscure as you seem to think. :p

Well I'm pleased to hear that Amarthadan! Obviously everyone's heard of Morrissey/Linkin Park but some of the others less so. Music like that bigger on the continent I think. You guys in Belgium/Holland/Germany get all the best concerts anyway. :a
You must have a good taste in music then my friend. Have you heard of Heidevolk? Saw them live last year. :P

Amon Amarth has some interesting tracks but I never picked up anything. I saw an interview with the singer and heard some stuff on That Metal Show.

Ever hear Anacrusis: Screams and Whispers? I would add that album to my fav list.

Diablo Swing Orchestra: sing along songs for the damned and delirious
This album has such diversity, and the music itself is just awesome. The album before it (butchers ballroom) and after it (Pandora's pinata) were both excellent as well, but this was the one that got me hooked, and thus has nostalgia on it's side.

Eluvietie: Helvetios
A stellar folk metal album. I don't like heavy metal much, but the first time I heard this mix of heavy metal and folk instruments I was hooked. It's mostly thrash/power metal for me, but this album breaks that trend very easily.

Sabaton: The art of war
Another superb album. Great power metal. I have every sabaton album, and they are all great. But again, this was the original that I heard.

Then there are a whole lot more, in no particular order:
Theocracy
Stryper
Whitecross
Metallica
Megadeth (mostly their newer stuff)
AC/DC
Nightwish!
Ozzy
TSO
Red
Dragonforce
Brian 'head' Welch
TFK
Disciple
Aerosmith
Def Leopard
Led Zeppelin
Iron maiden
Motley Crue
The Scorpions
Switchfoot
Three days grace
And lots of various soundtracks
And then into the dubstep/house/electronic type stuff, which I have recently gotten into. (Skrillex, Martin garrix, DVBBS and Borgeous, etc.)
