The new box set has been revealed:
https://www.warhammer-community.com/202 ... arter-set/

Presumably coming out later this year in time for the new movie and Christmas.

New Rohan infantry models, new Dunland tribesmen models, plus four new heroes.

... It looks like they're going in big ... there must surely be some new cavalry Rohan on the way to match, Hera foot and mounted (since she's not in the box set) and probably a sprue of masked Southron warriors as seen in the trailer.

It's nice that they have pointed to using the Dunland tribesmen with Saruman too, so they're not going to limit the cross-compatibility between time periods.

At first I thought they repackaged the existing Rohan warriors, but it looks like new sculpts. Which is pretty cool.

And while I'm not in love with the anime style of the source material, I thought the figures in general looked pretty good and should work well with our existing models. Phew!

The 3'x3' play mat is interesting, since most of the existing narrative scenarios are designed for a 4'x4' board.

I hope it'll be big seller. I'll help out in that regard. :)

As with others, thought they just the same Rohan figures as before, pleasantly surprised to see new ones! Glad to see the tribesmen without cloaks, easier to do conversions when the figures don't have robes. Like the heads on the tribesmen also.
Wonder if they will release Battlehosts of the new setz.

They do look very nice and I am very tempted to pick up a couple of boxes of each of the new plastic sets, but I am just wondering how these will scale up with the original (especially Rohan) plastic miniatures. It would be nice to add these to my existing Rohan and Isengard armies and not have to start collecting again due to scale-creep.

I saw the YouTube showing scale comparisons. The new boys are bigger. https://youtu.be/a4uAVmDRHlo?si=dQ1a12EdAsB05A1G

There's a photo here where the new warriors of Rohan look exactly in scale with the older models, so perhaps it all depends on the camera angle!

I gather they are smidgen bigger, but close enough for "Government Work". I remember painting my metal Rohan Royal Guard 20+ years ago and being appalled at the scale creep. This is not enough to worry about in my book.

The irony is there was a White Dwarf article prior to the game release discussing how LOTR was supposed to be 25mm to avoid mixing it with WHFB.
