I like this foam house. Its simple, but very goodlooking. Do you plan to line bricks to the wall?

Small update.

I've just painted the basecoat on the house and will now start with the details.

This will not be the final colour for the walls, I want to have it a bit more white/yellow and a bit less greenish.

@ Bastion: thanks, I'll not add bricks, as I want to have plastered walls, like these:

(but this one has far more decorations than I want to have on my own.)

@haldir, Thanks I'll take a look at it.

Excellent work! Do you have a link to the plans of the house? It looks like a great addition to a Gondor city!
You're using textured wallpaper for the flooring right?

Thanks wah wing.
You can find the building plans on the bottom of this page.

Yes, I use the small pieces u can get at an do it yourself store, to see if the colour looks good in your house, to make all the bases (this one exists out of two pieces.).

I've decided to spraypaint the house grey, as I couldn't get the colour right and didn't want to ruin it by adding to many layers of paint.

And I've started on Elrohir for the painting challenge.

So expect an update.

Here's my work so far on Elrohir.
He has all the basecoats but he still looks like a mess, especially the front.
I'll change the colour of the sash as it looks horrible right now.
Image
Let's hope bilbo is right about his foresight thingy in this case aswell (it does look a lot better in my head)

And as said above, I've changed the colour of the house, finished the windows and made the doors. (still need hinges and a doorknob)
Image Image
(sorry about the pictures that needed to be rotated, my camera has some problems and I don't have the time to do it right now.)
My camera ran out of batteries at that point, so Ill make some better ones tommorow (and do some more work on either elrohir or the board.)

As always, comments (and especially critisism) are most welcome.

Has it really been this long? :o Well, time for an update.
After a long time I've finally found the time to pick up the brush and scalpel, so every now and then I will try to post an update.
I've been working on the tharbad board for the last couple of days and have come up with a design, similar to this house:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/latinka311/3447078464/sizes/z/in/set-72157616758219015/
(sorry can't get the image in my post.)
During my holiday in England I picked up some of those lovely insolation sheets Iain (Drumstick) told me about.
This house seemed like a good test piece, so I'm still trying to figure out how to get the best results.
And I must say, if you have a sharp knife, they are great.
Image

Image

The entire building is held together by a couple of needles at the moment, so that's why everything looks a bit rickety and it's also why the wooden walkways are all at a different height.
So far, I'm quite happy with the results.

C&C are, as always, very welcome.

Ah great to see you updating this thread again aqan, I'm afraid I've fallen into the same trap and haven't had any time for hobby things since I'm not at home. Super! you found those sheets, they're brilliant to work with huh? I bought another pack of them only a week back. They'll take detail really well, so give that a try sometime. The building looks good so far, keep it up man. 8)

@ DMS: Hehhe, I believe I've deserved that..

@ John Wayne: Thanks, will try to finish elladan/ elrohir within a reasonable amount of time.

@ Iain: Yes those sheets were just the thing I was looking for and quite reasonably priced for the amount you get.

Does this mean that you'll enter in the terrain challenge  (if not I'm very much tempted to send you a package with tools and materials  )

I'll update in the weekend

As always, I failed misserably with the deadline for the painting challenge.
Here's the progress as it was on the night of the deadline.

I'll try to finish them in the weekend.
Maybe we should get an award for the person who fails to meet the most painting challenge deadlines in a year.

Too bad you missed the deadline mate. These elves are coming along very nicely!
Looking forward to see the progress on the buildings! Always nice to see an entire city building up! 8)

Some very nice terrain ideas here, can't wait to see how they turn out..

As a person that can't keep up with deadlines (well maybe I should stop starting 8 hour jobs, 5 hours before the deadline but well :P  I just love the adrenaline rush ), I feel you mate.
The workload on this particular challenge was a lot more than usual, Gandalf will be easier this month..

Thanks for the comments.

No huge update this time, but I've done a bit more on the house.

Of course I'll weather all the wood.
Please tell me what you think of it
And I got this display cabinet.

PS: is this the normal 640x480, it looks a bit larger than that?

I'm gonna steal your display case idea in the future for sure, really like it! :yay:

Also, the brickwork on the wall of your room is awesome!

Thanks.

Hehe, I wish I had such a big bedroom, it's the room next to the living room. I sleep in what once was a toilet/storage room. (thankfully without the smell. ) So, this is somewhat larger.

I don't have much time, so this is a quick update.

Here's an update on my inn for the terrain challenge.

Before I start painting I'll srape of some of the plaster on the woodwork.
And details like windows and doors will be placed after the whole thing has been painted.
I want to make a few benches, picnic benches and a fountain, but we'll see wether or not I have the time for it.
Please tell me what you think.

I'll try to finish in time, but I'm really busy at the moment and it's freezing in the shed. (can't paint in the house as my mother is allergic.)
