I suspect that they will be released as a fine cast Thorins Company, and that we will get wood elves versus spiders in the "Desolation of Smaug" boxed set.

Imagine the cost of a Fine Cast Thorins company, £10 a figure individually, even as a box set over £100

I think if they do release them it will be 1 figure in a pack at £10.00

Thorin's company fine cast is going to cost way too much. GW should release a plastic box set (not starter set). These are the main guys that everyone needs in order to actually pIay the god damn game. It is an absolute disgrace if people need to fork over hundreds of dollars to get them.
I have already decided to sculpt them all instead.

Dunno where people are getting these stupid prices from. If it is a box set, it'll be £50-60 after they have OOPd EfGT.

(I haven't read all the thread, so perhaps somebody wrote this before :) )

I believe we will see a 'Spiders' set similar to the 'Fell Wargs' one we have today - 6 spiders(in similar size of the wargs), on 40mm round bases that costs £18.
If in the movie the Spiders will be bigger than that, perhaps we will get a spider set more similar to the 'Mordor/Isengard Troll' set of LotR - Containing one big spider that you can sculpt and glue in diffrent ways, on 60mm round base that costs £25.

Other than that, there is a slight chance that we will get a new orc set from dol goldur that look diffrent than the hunter orcs. Speaking of which, it is very likely that the hunter orcs will have a command set or at least a generic captain later this year.

Also, we can be certain that we will have miniatures of legolas, thranduil and tauriel. I suspect that legolas and tauriel will be foot only and will cost £12, and thranduil will come foot and mounted on his elk and will cost £25. or perhaps he will be on foot only and in the next and final movie we will get a mounted model with him fully armoured.
Another thing we can be certain about is that we will get a mirkwood elves set that will contain 12 elves and that costs £20. Generic captain and command set will probaly be saved to be released to the third film. There's also a slight chance that we will have them on horses too like the rivendell knights.

Bard the bowman, soldiers of laketown, beorn, new versions of the white council and new versions of thorins company are also obvious :-D .

Not sure why people 'need' Thorin's company to play the game. You only 'need' them if you want to use that faction. I haven't painted my company yet and I play all the time! The Escape From Goblin Town starter set is pretty reasonably priced considering what you get and even if you don't want all the goblins/scenery etc. you can pick up the company for about £25 on ebay any day of the week.

Obviously if the other sculpts are released as a Finecast box then based on GW's current pricing they will be very expensive but there will always be a choice to buy the plastic company for a perfectly reasonable price if you'd rather.

@Highmaan - very sensible predictions, I agree with basically everything you've said, think you're spot on with your product/pricing suggestions.

There's an awful lot to look forward too this Christmas, it's gonna be a great time to be an SBG fan.

For what its worth I think we'll either see a plastic company box set or Finecast blisters in 2's and 3's. A full finecast box at typical prices would be insane even for GW.

15 models for £60 would be £4 each, for major heroes and would represent something like a 150% price decrease. When has GW ever done that? We're more likely to get multiple blister packs with 2 or 3 members in each for £15-£20. Thorin, Fili & Kili etc.

The models I'm most looking forward to next year are Tauriel and Smaug. I probably won't be able to afford them but I'm looking forward to seeing them nonetheless.

I very much doubt there will ever be a finecast dwarven company box set. As it is, 4 figures in the White Council costs £45. I imagine 13 dwarves in a box would be twice that. I'm guessing that they will all be released as individual heroes, like they have done so far with the finecast dwarves. That way GeeDub can get £12 a pop for them and maximise profit. At best they'd be £20 for a pair.
I'm sure the plastic company from the starter set will be released separately eventually, just as the plastic Fellowship was from the Mines of Moria starter.

Hi Fb, until recently I would have held the same opinion, but with products like this:
http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catal ... od2130120a

at £1,156 I can only too easily imagine that they will go ahead with a fine cast Thorin's Company, without a penny discounted at around the £166-£168 mark!

I'm pretty sure all we're getting for the August release is Bilbo Baggins with Sting but I haven't got my copy of White Dwarf yet so can't confirm that.

How many do we need? How many Bilbo's do they think were going to want, or buy, particularly at £10 each.

A goblin or hunter orc captain variant would have been great.

Interesting. Cool pose, won't be getting it though. As previously mentioned, I would have preferred a hunter orc captain.

That model is pictured in the hardback rule book! I mentioned him in an earlier thread.

I think it is the bilbo from page 128 in the big hobbit rulebook.
